Laura
has founded and funded organizations in both the social and
private sectors. She was a Vice President at Ashoka, an organization
supporting social entrepreneurs where she headed fund-raising
and developed programs to bridge the social and business sectors.
Laura was Founder and Vice President, Business Development
of a women's healthcare company; an Associate at the venture
capital firm Highland Capital Partners; and helped establish
a merchant bank in Moscow, Russia for Aldrich, Eastman and
Waltch, a US investment firm. Laura holds a B.A. in Biology
from Harvard University.

Nilima has worked in various capacities in
the corporate and social sectors. Prior to joining the Wadhwani
Foundation, she moved from a highly successful corporate career
to set up Action Aid India Society, the Indian arm of the
International Agency, and was largely responsible for raising
funds for their various projects in India. On the corporate
side, Nilima was Vice President, Corporate Affairs, UB Group
and Sales Manager, Banjara Welcome Group Hotel. Nilima holds
a BA in Journalism.

Prior to joining the Wadhwani Foundation,
Divya was a Program Officer with the Disability Unit of the
international NGO ActionAid – India (AAI) starting in
1998. While there, she was part of the core team that initiated
SABALA, the disability wing of ActionAid India. Divya has
worked closely with various development & disability NGOs
all across India, both helping them to include and strengthen
the disability initiatives in their ongoing programs. Before
entering the disability sector, Divya was a Research Associate
with National Research & Resource Centre, Mussoorie and
part of a team which conducted a social assessment study on
District Primary Education Programme in Bihar. She has also
worked as a Program Officer with Sampradan - Indian Centre
for Philanthropy, New Delhi which promotes indigenous philanthropy
in India. Divya holds a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from
Mumbai University (Nirmala Niketan, College of Social Work).

Leila brings social sector knowledge and media
experience to the Foundation. After a sabbatical to work on
a feature film project, Leila is back at the Foundation to
resume responsibility in market research and initiate the
faculty development program. Prior to that, she was working
with a social venture capital organization, Ashoka: Innovators
for the Public in Washington D.C., to support their global
fund raising activities and later moved to India for local
institution building. Leila holds a B.S. in Foreign Service
from Georgetown University.

Prior to joining the Wadhwani Foundation,
Sunita helped set up the Mumbai branch of a national PR agency,
Litmus. She went on to head the Mumbai branch of the company,
strategizing and leading her team to execute complete public
relation campaigns for several multi-national clients. Sunita
started her career in the field of education. She holds an
M.A. in English Literature from Andhra University and an MPhil.
