Mr. Jerry Engel is responsible for all activities in
entrepreneurship and innovation at University of California,
Berkeley. He founded and has led the Lester Center since
1991. He is also the Director of the Haas School’s
Entrepreneurship Program and the Faculty Co-director
of various executive education programs on venture capital
& private equity.
Prior to that, Jerry directed Ernst & Young's efforts
in raising capital for its emerging business clients
nationwide and helped several firms go public, including
AutoDesk and Fair Isaac Companies. In 1995, Jerry was
a founding General Partner of Kline Hawkes Capital firm
based in Los Angeles. He later co-founded AllBusiness.com,
which sold to NBCi for $250million and had over 130
employees in 2000.
Jerry got both his B. S. & M. S. (Wharton) from
University of Pennsylvania.
