Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore
(IIMB) was established in 1973 to augment management talent
and resources in the country. Today IIMB has become a premier
education institution, contributing towards the expansion
of knowledge base in its field of endeavor-through research,
through innovation in management theory and practice and
new initiatives, including a Center for Public Policy.
The N S Raghavan Center for Entrepreneurial Learning
was set up at IIMB to “emphasize value-creation through
informed entrepreneurship.” The Center defines the opportunities
perceived by aspiring entrepreneurs, evaluates their strengths/weaknesses,
and helps them with resources to translate their concepts into
profitable business ventures.
The center is currently partnering with
Wadhwani Foundation and Prof. Amar Bhide of Columbia University
to conduct the National Entrepreneurship Study, a research
study to understand the barriers or facilitators to entrepreneurship
in India.
